COME ALONG AND BE PROUD OF YOUR PRIDE.
As Chief Executive of the Blackpool Pride Festival committee, I would like to thank everyone who came to this year’s event and for making it such a success. We were blessed with gorgeous weather, a wonderful venue at the iconic Blackpool Winter Gardens and great support from our local venues and from over 40 commercial and information stallholders.
Obviously our success is not down to any one person, but to the teams that put the event together, to the people who organised the entertainment and to all the volunteers who gave their time and effort freely. So, to all the “behind the scenes” people, I would like to say a big thank you.
I would like to thank Gareth Gates, Diva Fever and Black Lace and particularly all the many local performers who gave their time and skills to this event and made it so entertaining. Your support is greatly and sincerely appreciated.
I also would like to thank our sponsors and partners and all those many community groups and colleges that became involved. Without your involvement Blackpool Pride Festival simply would not have happened.
We shall be doing it all again next year, but we are always happy to hear any suggestions as to how BPF can develop and grow into an even more prestigious and well organised event.
Finally, even thought this was a free event, we anticipate there will be a small profit from this year’s event. This is because the community, as a whole, got behind us and wanted it to be a success and supported us. Thank you.
Please keep looking at the BPF website as we will update it and keep everyone informed about what is happening throughout the rest of this year and into 2014. We have already set the dates for next year!
